THE SHAW THEATRE SEATING INSIDE

Welcome to the Shaw Theatre

Located in the heart of London, the 446-seat Shaw Theatre has a rich history of hosting diverse performances, including drama, dance, musical theatre, and concerts.

Originally opened in 1971 as the Bedforbury Theatre, it was renamed the Shaw Theatre in 1998 after a major renovation, honoring the famed playwright George Bernard Shaw, who spent his later years in the Kings Cross area.

The theatre has seen performances and rehearsals by iconic artists such as Elton John, Queen, and Dionne Warwick.

A statue of St. Joan by artist Keith Grant stands outside the venue, commemorating Shaw’s renowned play about Joan of Arc, which contributed to his Nobel Prize for Literature.
