Dr Shaun Wallace
Dr. Shaun Wallace is a renowned criminal defense barrister, TV personality, and author, famously known as “The Dark Destroyer” on ITV’s The Chase. With a career spanning over 40 years since being called to the Bar, Shaun has made significant strides in a profession once dominated by white counterparts. Inspired by courtroom dramas like Crown Court and Petrocelli, Shaun’s passion for law was ignited at a young age. His legal career has been one of perseverance, overcoming obstacles to become a respected figure in both law and television. In 2004, Shaun made history as the first Black contestant to win Mastermind, a milestone he describes as his happiest moment. This victory, following many personal setbacks, established him as a trailblazer in British TV. His subsequent success on The Chase cemented his status as one of the most recognizable faces in the UK. Shaun’s autobiography Chasing the Dream captures his inspiring journey of resilience and determination. He has been the proud Patron of Miss Caribbean UK since 2016, praising the pageant as a powerful platform to celebrate British women of Caribbean descent and promote Caribbean culture in the UK. In addition to his TV and legal work, Shaun is a dedicated community advocate, supporting causes such as the Camden New Journal Christmas Hamper Appeal. His commitment to giving back and championing Caribbean culture continues to make him an inspiration to many.
Bertha Joseph
Bertha Joseph boasts an incredibly impressive CV and has been a trailblazer throughout her career. Since 1976, she has been one of the pioneers and the secretary of Notting Hill Carnival, helping to shape one of the most significant cultural events in the UK. Bertha served as a Councillor for Brent Council for 24 years and made history in 1998/99 as the first African-Caribbean Mayor of Brent. In 2009, she became the first African-Caribbean Deputy Chairman of the London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority, breaking barriers in another significant role. In her work as Business Unit Manager in the London Borough of Southwark, Bertha led efforts to address hate crime, earning two National Local Authority Race Awards for her outstanding contributions. She was also awarded the Borough Commander's Commendation in 1996 for her leadership in resolving hate crime incidents in collaboration with the police. Bertha’s long-standing commitment to her community has not gone unnoticed. In 2022, she was awarded the Metropolitan Police’s Excellence Award for her voluntary service as a Police Ambassador during Notting Hill Carnival, further cementing her legacy as a community leader and advocate. A former beauty pageant titleholder of St. Croix US Virgin Islands, Bertha is thrilled to bring her expertise to the judging panel at this year's Miss Caribbean UK beauty pageant. She is excited to witness the confidence, grace, and ambition of the finalists. Most recently, on 7th October 2024, Bertha was honoured with The Black History Month Partnership Award by Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley QPM. This prestigious award recognises her dedication to empowering and uplifting the community, striving for positive change, and helping to break down barriers between the Metropolitan Police Service and the Black community.
Andraya Catlyn
Entrepreneur, Advocate for Women in Business, and NHS Leader Andraya Catlyn is an accomplished entrepreneur with a passion for empowering women to embrace their inner entrepreneur. As the founder of "Ace Inventories," Andraya leads an all-female team of inventory agents in an industry historically dominated by men. Her business model is built on fostering strong relationships with clients, giving her an edge over competitors and securing repeat business with letting agencies and private landlords. Since the last time she participated as a judge, Andraya has achieved new milestones. She earned a Master's degree in International Project Management and now works with the Southwest London NHS Integrated Care Board, further honing her leadership and strategic skills. In honor of the 10th anniversary of Miss Caribbean UK, Andraya is thrilled to return as a judge for this prestigious event. She looks forward to celebrating a decade of cultural excellence, passion, and ambition, and is excited to witness the continued development and drive of this year’s talented finalists. As a proud advocate for women's empowerment and Caribbean heritage, Andraya is committed to supporting the next generation of trailblazers in this landmark year for Miss Caribbean UK.
Florian Valmy-Devillers
Florian Valmy-Devillers is the CEO of FVD International and Business Director for the Caribbean Tourism Organisation in the UK and Europe. In this capacity, he leads marketing efforts to promote the Caribbean across these regions. A specialist in Tourism Development, Florian holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs with a focus on Tourism and is fluent in three languages. As a seasoned lecturer in digital marketing and crisis management, Florian has worked extensively across the globe, contributing to international projects in countries such as Cuba, Costa Rica, South Africa, Peru and Indonesia. Proud of his French Caribbean heritage, he has lived in both France and Guadeloupe. In his free time, Florian enjoys sports, traveling, photography, and connecting with like-minded global citizens.
Amy Harris-Willock
Amy Harris-Willock is a Specialist Orthopaedic physiotherapist specialising in shoulder, back and hip problems. She started her career as a professional Long Jumper for Team GB at various European and World championships, then went on to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Amy’s academic career started at Florida State university where she earned her BSc in Economics & Business before earning a Master’s degree in Sports Science and Physiotherapy from Brunel University. Amy has worked for the NHS mainly in acute medicine. In 2022 she decided to move into private practice to develop her academia around applied science to optimise patient recovery. She currently works as an orthopaedic physiotherapist on Harley street at Marylebone health group and is part of the shoulder clinic team. Outside of her clinical work, Amy has previously competed at the Miss Caribbean UK contest where she was crowned as the 2015 queen. Amy is also a professional bodybuilder in the IFBB professional league training towards the 2025 season.
