Manchester Heat

On the 11 July 2015 all roads led to the Lounge Bar, Manchester, for the first National heat of Miss Caribbean UK 2015.

The team at MCUK had been anticipating this moment for over six months. Now the moment had arrived.

Two contestants were chosen; Miss Selina Chippy, 28, who will be representing Jamaica & Miss Rochelle Barratt, 26 representing Barbados. Both candidates performed exceptionally well and will be in the final, with a chance to be crowned Miss Caribbean UK 2015.

Those in attendance added to the great energy of the occasion, and we would like to extend our appreciation to all who were involved in this inaugural event, especially the contestants. We would also like to give a special mention to our fabulous judges; JACKIE BURTON (JB) of Peace FM. Keneva O'Connor an R&B Reggae Gospel Artist and Somoya Nelson, a performing Arts Actor who is currently part of BAM theatre. Last but certainly not least, we have to give special appreciation to our choreographer and production manager Reuben P Joseph.

The entertainment on the night was provided by Keneva O’Connor, and Shola Mcleod introduced by Manchester Young Advisor – Kemoy Walker PTTLS. The energy ramped up as we all sang along to the positive vibes. So powerful was their effect on us that we have decided to book them to be a part of the finale at the Shaw Theatre, Euston, London, on December 5th 2015.

If we find other contestants and entertaining talent like these in the other regions, we will be truly blessed.

The next heat is in Birmingham - Saturday 25th July @ Red Gate Chinese Restaurant, 151 Hurst Street, Birmingham B5 6DS
