Louisa McIntosh is a driven and ambitious lady with a BSc in Biomedical Science who is now pursuing a master’s degree in bioinformatics, a field that combines biology and computer science. She was a COVID diagnostic lab worker during the pandemic and now works as a science technician at a secondary school. Her accomplishments include balancing motherhood while studying and working. She contributed to the scientific effort to identify and classify COVID in the populace and conducted studies that helped create treatments that offer immunity. Despite having a profession in STEM, Louisa has always had a passion for music. Her musical background has given her the opportunity to compete against other schools in several singing competitions. She wrote an impressive gospel song called "In God's Hands" for Music GCSE where it was performed in churches and at schools. Planning, structure, and communication are Louisa's strongest suit. It was crucial for her to practice these skills as a mother to ensure the proper operation of the home she has created. This is also evident in her work at the university and at her place of employment. Despite being at work, essay deadlines are always reached, and scientific practicals are delivered on schedule to classrooms in time for the start of sessions. Louisa has a keen interest in singing, cooking, travelling, and Soca music. She has been a part of the close-knit band "The Calabash Carnival Club" for Notting Hill Carnival since she was 5 years old. Her ambitions are to earn a master's degree with a distinction and launch her own software engineering company so that she may use her expertise to help Grenada's emerging technology sector. Louisa will retain her scientific expertise, which she can use to support the healthcare sector both in England and overseas.
